Mirabbos Hojamberdiev

Professor Mirabbos Hojamberdiev leads the CatMatX Research Group at the Mads Clausen Institute, University of Southern Denmark. His group focuses on developing next-generation catalytic materials based on mixed-anion compounds for diverse applications, including solar and electrocatalytic water splitting, spin catalysis, ammonia decomposition, solar protein formation, and environmental remediation.

He has published over 240 research articles and holds five patents. He has received numerous international recognitions, including the RECRUIT Grant funded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation, the Atta-ur-Rahman Prize from the World Academy of Sciences (TWAS), the Georg Forster Research Award from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, the 2018 IUPAC CHEMRAWN VII Prize for Green Chemistry, and the 2023 IUPAC-Zhejiang NHU International Award for Advancements in Green Chemistry from the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC).

He has also been awarded a Fulbright Visiting Scholarship and postdoctoral fellowships from the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS), the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, and the European Commission’s Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship.

He earned his Dr. Eng. degree from the Tokyo Institute of Technology (now the Institute of Science Tokyo), Japan.

He currently serves as a Visiting Professor at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Institute of Science Tokyo, Japan, and a TWAS Research Professor at the Department of Chemistry, University of Zambia.
